3 Months Old!

It is really hard to imagine that Brooke is already 3 months old! Why didn't time go by this fast when I was pregnant?!?!

Happy Baby!

It didn't take long for the monkey to look small!

Enough pictures, it's hand sucking time!

Quick recap of the month:

*** Brooke has really discovered her hands. She isn't only a thumb sucker, but a finger sucker. It seems she favors her right hand, but she will use her left and sometimes even try to shove both hands in her mouth.

*** About 10 days ago, Brooke really discovered her voice. I don't think she has stopped babbling since! She is also smiling, laughing and melting my heart all the time!

*** She still loves her swing! When I sit her down to strap her in, she has learned to look up and wait for me to pull the mobile down and turn it on. She loves to watch the animals spin above her head!

*** Brooke recently started sleeping in her crib. She has been falling asleep in her swing around 8pm and then wakes up for a quick bottle around 10pm (when we put her in her crib) and wakes up somewhere between 5am - 7am. She is not only a great sleeper, but a great napper! She takes 2-3 naps a day that last anywhere from 1-3 hours.

*** Her newest trick (the past 5 nights in a row)... when we lay her down for bed, we lay her vertically in her crib... when we wake up she is horizontal!

*** Brooke is still a GREAT eater! Honestly, that's the only time she is fussy... when she is hungry. She now weighs 16 pounds and is wearing 3-6 months clothing and size 3 diapers. I'm trying to make sure she wears everything at least once, because I'm sure it won't be long until we are in the next size.

*** She loves to lay on her back on her playmat, punching and kicking the animals that dangle above her head. Tummy time is still not her favorite, but we are working on it!

*** She loves to hold onto fingers and is starting to like to hold onto toys, but gets upset when she drops them. She has also gotten a good hold of my hair (now I know why women cut their hair off)!

*** Last but not least, she is still the easiest going baby. No matter what I throw at her, she just rolls with the punches. Shopping trips, doctors visits (for grandma & papa) or whatever else a day may bring, she is always on her best behavior! I sure hope this lasts!

A week ago Brooke discovered she has a voice and has not stopped testing it out since! Here is a short clip of Brooke on her playmat babbling away!

AT&T's Future

Brooke all ready to go to work with her Daddy!

Snow Day

Brooke was scheduled to go in for her 2 month check-up on Wednesday, February 2nd. Well thanks to Mother Nature dumping 18 inches of snow on us, her appointment was cancelled. After Daddy got done cleaning up the driveway, we bundled Brooke up and took her outside for a quick picture in the mountain of snow.

First and hopefully last major snowfall!

Happy to be back inside and warm!

Pretty in pink, ready to go see the doctor!

The roads were cleaned up enough that I was able to get Brooke in the following day. Dr. Persak was surprised to see how big Brooke had gotten since her last visit! Brooke showed the doctor all of the things she is so good at --- big smiles, responding with coo's and especially how strong her neck is! I shared with the doctor how good of an eater and sleeper Brooke was and the doctor reminded me just how lucky I am!

She weighed in at a whooping 13 pounds, 11 ounces putting her in the 94th percentile for weight, measured 23 inches long (65th percentile) and her head was in the 83rd percentile. I was so scared I was going to get in trouble for feeding her so much, but the doctor said she looked great and was perfectly proportionate and to keep doing what we were doing!

After the doctor was done with the examination the nurses came in for her round of shots. I was shocked at Brooke's reaction. I wasn't expecting her to scream out of control, but I sure wasn't expecting her to not cry at all! After the nurses were done, she let out ONE squawk and was over it before I even got to pick her up and was back to her smiling self! Another job well done, Brooke sure made her mommy proud!
