30 Weeks

Hard to believe I am 75% of the way through this journey. Less than 10 weeks to go! I know I said this a month ago, but we really, really need to start getting things ready!!!

I went to the doctor last week, everything checked out normal. She said everything was looking good, but I would need to go in for an ultrasound between 30-32 weeks. Because I am older than 35, this is standard procedure. I did finally have a complaint to my doctor, my back is killing me! I showed her where it was hurting and she said it was more than likely not the baby, but possibly a dislocated rib. She recommended I go see a chiropractor. So yesterday, I went to see my chiropractor, and sure enough, I have 2 dislocated ribs. More than likely this was caused by the bronchitis I have had the past 4 weeks. He did a minor adjustment and I am to go back in tomorrow for another. Hopefully he can get them back into place quickly, because it is very uncomfortable!

So, we all know me, I went in the first chance I could, at 30 weeks, which was today. The technician explained to me that they would be measuring the arms, legs, stomach and head of the baby, as well as the amniotic fluid. I asked if she would be kind enough to print a few extra pictures, since my mom has been in the hospital forever and hasn't been able to attend any of my ultrasounds. Not only did she print extras, she did them in 3d/4d! I did ask her to confirm the sex, and yes, she is still a girl.

After the technician was done, the doctor came in to take a look for himself. He reported that everything looks good and as it should. He told me the baby is weighing in at 4lbs, which is in the 75th percentile. He explained that the baby typically gains 1/2 a pound a week from this point on, so that means we are looking at an 8-10 pounder! Yikes! I wasn't little either (8lbs, 6oz.), so I guess I will get to see what my mom went through.

Aside my back and lack of sleep, I'm still feeling great! I really have gotten lucky!

For once, the baby was actually asleep, so we were able to get some good pictures in 3d/4d. Technology is definitely amazing!!!
