26 Weeks

On Wednesday, August 11th, I finally got to feel the baby kick. It was definitely more than a flutter, it was more like a drum beating in my stomach. I typically don't feel much action during the day, as I've stayed quite active, either working out on the golf course, golfing, swimming, or somethting. So I'm hoping that this is because the movement of the golf cart is like rocking and that she's just not that bored of golf already! LOL Then when night rolls around and I sit still for an hour or so, you would think she is in training for kickboxing. The kicks and punches aren't strong enough yet to wake me up at night, but I'm sure those days are coming soon.

I went to the doctor today for my routine monthly check-up. All is good with me and the baby! My blood pressure and weight is great and the babies heart rate is great also. My next visit is in 3 weeks, not 4, and then it reduces down to every other week and then finally once a week, so believe it or not, the home stretch is finally getting closer!!! (2 more weeks and it will be the 3rd trimester).

I have to go sometime this week to do the glucose screening to test for gestational diabetes. I'm really not looking forward to it, as I have heard the stuff they make you drink is nasty, but it is what it is. I'm just crossing my fingers and toes that the results come out ok, because I can't imagine having to watch what I eat!

I also found out at 32 weeks, I will have another ultrasound done. This is another routine ultrasound done for women over 35. It will be exciting to see the little monkey, one final time, before I get to hold her.

I still feel great, altho the back pains and restless nights have started to kick in. I've made it 6.5 months, but i'm running out of clothes, time to bite the bullet and do the maternity thing! As you will see below, I am starting to look pregnant.
